Although I only attended MTHS for 1 1/2 years, moving to River Plaza from Tenafly in Bergen county in 1958, I really feel a part of the class of '60 and am looking forward to the reunion. From an Orange and Black Tenafly Tiger to and Orange and Black Middletown Lion, I played Baseball for Arnie Truax, Basketball for Phil Braun and made a lot of friends in the 1 1/2 years I spent at Middletown. Believe it or not, honest truth, I do remember Nancy as a cheerleader during our basketball games. That's the truth! There were some very pretty ladies cheerleading and she was one of them. Is there something wrong with me because I remember pretty girls 49 ago? I believe there is. I don't remember anything from Tenafly, but I remember MTHS like it was yesterday. It must be the people.
For the past 20 years I have been a state certified sports official for football, basketball and baseball and still visit MTHS(N) to officiate their games. The current "girls" gym (where we used to play our Varsity games in 1960) seems so small now.
Sadly, George passed away on November 14, 2018. Our condolences to his family and his friends.

I have been busy. I'm getting ready to put my MN townhouse up for sale. I will be moving to Bradenton, FL (west coast) for the winter months and staying at my lake cabin in Wisconsin for the summer months. Spring and fall are still being planned. I will be in NJ the week of April 19 visiting my daughter and family in Toms River. I haven't seen her kids since Christmas, she has three, a 3 1/2 year old boy and 18 month old twins (1 boy & 1 girl).

Edward Raposa, 69, of Jackson, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born in Newark to Margaret and Anthony Raposa and was a lifelong resident of NJ. After serving in the U.S. Army, he went to work as a pressman. He retired in 2003 after a long career at the Newark Star Ledger. In addition to being a pressman, Ed was a commercial fisherman working the N.J. coastal waters for many years.
Surviving Ed are his beloved wife, Norma; children, Holly Raposa-Espanosa, Beth Ferst and husband Stephen, and Russell Sigman and wife Heather; and grandchildren, Alexa, Ryan, and Isabella.

After retiring 4 years ago from my position as Vice President/General Manager of Propane Equipment in Tinton Falls, we moved to Charlotte to be near both sons and our 5 terrific grandchildren. We love this area and are very happy to have our family close by.
We have spent many years RV'ing out West. Favorite spot is Jackson Hole/Yellowstone National Park (wolf-watching is my passion). (Our photo depicts good times in Jax Hole. :~)

5/21/2015: Finally retired from the insurance industry in NYC and moved to a (hopefully) warmer climate in North Carolina. Enjoying everything about the South so far but missing my son and family in Boynton Beach FL. Hope to visit soon to see grandsons, age 10 and 13. Also missing my buddies, Chris, Judy, Carol, and Ethel but hopefully they will visit regularly.

Looked at your site and relived the distant past. Haven't heard from anyone since I graduated in '60....Ugh! Went on to college and grad.school...taught secondary school in Millburn/Short Hills for 28 years...retired in 1992..... moved to Spain (30km south of Barcelona) ...came back to the US. Settled in Jupiter 13 years ago and still spend the summers in Spain. Hard to deal with the cold weather anymore...old age. LOL!
Was surprised to see so many of our classmates were deceased...sad. Definitely recognized many of the "old crew" in Middletown. I must have gotten that jacket at the Goodwill Store?...Yikes!

Bob and I are both retired from Howell Twp, NJ. He retired from the Police Department, and I retired from the Building Department. We have twin girls and one boy. We also have 2 grandchildren. We are enjoying our retirement with our 3 black Labs here in Rice, VA.

Nancy, thanks for all the info you've sent me over time re our reunions etc. Unfortunately, it seems everytime or most everytime, something has come up and not allowed us to attend - just like this 'new' reunion - I will be in the hospital having a total knee replacement and then 3 to 4 weeks in a rehab facility....all due to a steroid shot I got in my knee.... Since July, I have been in 24-7 pain, morning, noon and night - nothing helps with the pain and 'the beat goes on'.. I had an MRI earlier this morning because having to use a freaking walker, it went 'head over heals' and I fell in the side of the walker, my shoulder getting caught in a little open area and when I tried to get out, I messed up my shoulder so bad, I can't raise the arm etc. and it's my left arm and being left handed isn't too much fun. My left knee is the size of 1 1/2 softballs and my foot is numb and full of pins and needles...all this being constant. So as it stands right now, 9/18 is my surgery and the rest is history. Give everyone our love and hopefully we'll get to see everyone one day soon. I've attached a pic of Bob and I and our 2 dogs when we went to the open house at the SPCA in November.

BOB WAS A NAVY CAREER MAN AND WE WENT TO MANY PLACES ALASKA ,CALIFORNIA AT 3 DIFFERENT DUTY STATIONS RHODE ISLAND, TENNESSEE, AND THE BEST OF ALL ROTA SPAIN FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS......AFTER RETIREMENT WE SETTLED IN APPOMATTOX VIRGINIA ( FOR HISTORY BUFFS THAT IS WHERE LEE AND GRANT ENDED THE CIVIL WAR..)WE HAVE BEEN HERE JUST OVER 30 YEARS AND BOB WORKED WITH THE SCHOOL SYSTEM KEEPING THE SCHOOL BUSES RUNNING. HE HAS RETIRED COMPLETLY NOW. AS FOR ME, MY ONE DAUGHTER AND I OWN AND OPERATE A GIFT SHOP ON MAIN ST CALLED COUNTRY CHARM WHICH WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR OVER 20 YEARS. AS FOR ME I AM NOT READY TO RETIRE, BUT I LOVE TO GO AND TRAVEL AND GO WHEN EVER I CAN. MY TRIPS RIGHT NOW ARE LIMITED DUE TO BOBS HEART CONDITION WHICH ISN'T LOOKING TOO GOOD AT THIS TIME. Joined the Navy and spent my first three years flying out of Bermuda. The Navy sent me to North Carolina State University for Electrical Engineering. Went through flight training and became a flight instructor. Then flew P-3 Orions chasing Soviet submarines in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Spent my last two years and an aircraft carrier, the only time I was on a ship. Retired in 1980. Went to Purdue for grad school and then worked as an engineer in Maryland and New Jersey. Taught High School Math for one year in Vermont until I finally retired from retirement. Had three children and my second wife has two, so five children and four grandchildren.
