Colorizing a vintage black-and-white photo used to mean trusting it to a skilled artist who hand-painted it. In our new Digital Age, going from black-and-white to color simply means uploading it to any computer nerd (us) with a decent photo restoration software program and high speed internet. What's the difference? Nothing, really - just how it's done in our Modern Times.
From Color to Black and White or Monotone . . . $35 to B&W, $40 to Monotone
Very dramatic effects can be achieved at a very reasonable price. Color to black-and-white is a piece of cake. Color to monotone is a piece of cake with icing. P.S.: From an original black-and-white to monotone is $35.

Taking an old and cherished black-and-white photograph and colorizing just the central focus of the shot can be very dramatic. Unfortunately, I mis-judged the focus of this picture and colorized myself instead of the vintage car.

Jackie and Vivian - my surrogate grand-kids. Notice how the new black-and-white background is given a soft focus to de-emphasize it and to give depth to the picture.
Elf in the garden. All but Elf, the flowers and just one giant leaf was converted to black-and-white. Let your artistic imagination soar.
And below is a collage of Full Color to Accent Color photos.

This is one of three Glamour Photos, taken by fashion photographer Edwin Williams, that I received from LisaBeth. Shortly after they were taken, LisaBeth had a wonderful Blonde Rebirth and wanted the photos to match her new persona. Hair is not easy to colorize, especially blonde hair, but, working under LisaBeth's direction, we did it.

This wedding photo from Stephanie needed some minor touch-up before it was colorized. Watcha' think?

The Bards are now retired and living near me in Florida. They contacted me to see if I could take their black-and-white wedding photos from more than 40 years ago and turn them into colored photos. When I dropped off the final 8x10's, I was so pleased seeing their joyous and tearful expressions that I almost didn't charge them for the project. "Almost" being the keyword - I may be dumb but I ain't stupid.

"The Very Real Marjorie Main" (without her "Ma Kettle" makeup). Steve sent me this photo of Marjorie to colorize - there are hardly any color photos of this great actress. He was so tickled with the results that he went and got me a date with Ms. Main.
